Finalise the long and short lists of species that will be prioritised for protection.

Engage with residents and community groups. Ask them to share their favorite outdoor places and the environmental issues they face.

Gather evidence for the habitat map.

Finalise priorities for habitats.
February 2025
Start drafting the Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

Finalise priorities and measures that will go into the strategy.

Finalise mapping evidence.
March 2025
Habitat/ species specific priorities that are measurable, achievable and relevant.

Measures for achieving these priorities that link to other existing guidance and policies.
April 2025
Circulate draft LNRS to supporting authorities.

Take the draft LNRS to Steering Group on 7 April 2025.

Update the draft LNRS in line with feedback from Supporting Authorities
May 2025
Full public consultation (4 Weeks)
June 2025
Make amendments to the draft LNRS based on the feedback from public consultation.

Launch the final LNRS strategy.
